About Green Bay Botanical Gardens
Green Bay Botanical Garden started in 1968 when two founding members formed a gardening club. As the years went on, the members of the gardening club started looking for potential sites for a botanical garden in Green Bay. And after many setbacks, the members finally formed Green Bay Botanical Garden Inc and declared themselves as a nonprofit, which then led to them leasing land from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Today the garden spans over 47 acres of land and is full of gorgeous scenery! They host many events include yoga, weddings, concerts, field trips, workshops and so much more! Green Bay Botanical Garden’s goal is to bring people and plants together in an environment that not only educates its visitors, but inspires them.

The Green Bay Botanical Garden is an amazing location for your senior session. With over 47 acres of gardens to explore, we’ll definitely have endless gorgeous options for backdrops. The carefully crafted gardens have more than 120,000 different plants that are from all over the world, creating the most incredible scenery. We’ll be in the presence of stunning brick structures, a flowing fountain, whimsical arches, vine covered bridges and so much more! This location is absolutely magical and is the perfect setting for whimsical senior photos.
Outfit Ideas for Your Session
Your outfits are super important for your senior session. They really set the tone for your session and can elevate your images to a whole new level. For a senior photography session at the Green Bay Botanical Garden I would recommend having a few different outfit options. First, I would definitely choose a long, flowy dress of some kind. Not only will it give us a ton of posing ideas, but it also will fit the vibe of the gardens. Think something along the lines of boho and fun. I would choose another outfit that is a still formal, but a little more casual. Maybe choose a super cute textured top and pair it with your favorite pair of jeans. And for your third outfit I would choose something that really speaks to your and your personality. Remember to also choose stylish footwear for your outfits and accessorize to bump up the overall appearance of your images. As far as colors go, I would choose an outfit that is more neutral (black, white, brown, etc) and at least one that is a pop of color (earth tones are my favorite)! This way you’re getting more variety between your images.
Tips for Planning Your Senior Photography Session at Green Bay Botanical Garden
Your senior session only happens once and so it’s incredibly important to make sure you plan all the details! If you’re considering having your session at the Green Bay Botanical Garden here are a few things to consider when planning. I would recommend booking your session in spring or summer if you want those bold and vibrant colors amongst the flowers. Make sure you plan ahead for outfit changes as well. They don’t have dressing rooms available and don’t allow you to change in the restrooms. I would arrive in your first outfit and for your other changes you can use my portable changing room. A photography permit is required to use the grounds, but you don’t need to make an appointment for senior photo sessions. You can simply purchase a one day permit inside the visitor center.
