First can you introduce yourself and share with us a little bit about yourself?
Hello! I am an esthetician and makeup artist and I have been in the beauty industry for 23 years. My career started with me working at the Estée Lauder counter at a department store many years ago. I love helping people love themselves with makeup. I enjoy working with all skin tones and ages. It wasn’t until later in my career that I started working as an esthetician. I offer skin treatments including acne and aging solutions at my studio in Appleton.
How did you get into the makeup industry? And how long have you been a makeup artist?
What really interested me in makeup was my own struggle with acne and covering it up with makeup. Makeup can really help with self esteem when you are a teenager.
What type of makeup application do you use for clients?
I offer traditional and airbrush makeup. I feel traditional makeup covers better and is better for oily skin. Airbrush makeup is great for a more natural dewy look.
Do you specialize in a particular type of makeup style? And what is it about your style that sets you apart from other makeup artists?
I offer a natural glam style but as a makeup artist I can do whatever the client wants. I always listen to the client which sets me apart from other makeup artists. It’s all about the clients needs.
Do you offer makeup services for homecoming, prom and senior photos? If so, when is the best time for clients to reach out and schedule their appointment with you?
Yes I do! I can book up fast because I do other makeup events as well so the sooner the better.
How can teens make their makeup last throughout the night for a dance or throughout the duration of their senior photo session?
Always set your makeup with a loose powder with a natural finish. Not shiny or too matte. And I always recommend a setting spray to lock everything in place.
What advice do you have for teens who aren’t sure what makeup look to go for?
I always recommend using neutral eyeshadow colors and keeping the makeup light but enough to photograph well. You want your senior photos to look like you
How is senior photo makeup different from everyday makeup or event makeup?
You want to use makeup that photographs well. And have a makeup artist that has experience with Senior Photography.
Do you have a favorite tool in your makeup kit that you can never, ever be without?
Yes my favorite brush for eyeshadow is the 232 brush from Smith Cosmetics. It is the best at blending eyeshadow.
What other services do you offer?
I offer lash lift and tints, brow laminations, acne treatments, dermaplane skin treatments.
What beauty advice would you give to women?
Wear Sunscreen 40 every day. Get a facial from an esthetician. Your skin will thank you.
