Q&A with Katie of Lilly Lo Boutique in Fish Creek
Can you please provide a short description of your business?
We are a women’s clothing boutique that focuses on resort style clothing inclusive for all women.
Can you share a bit about what inspired Lilly Lo? Why did you decide to open a boutique in Door County?
My mom and I have always had a creative minds, wanting to open a business together was something we had talked about many times but never knew what we wanted to do. Clothing was something we fell into, but we absolutely love!
Our name is a combination of the two most influential women in our lives; Lilly (my great grandma, moms grandma) and Lo short for Lois (my grandma, moms mother) we don’t know where we’d be without these important women so we just had to pay tribute, women supporting women is what we’re all about!
As for location, our family has been working seasonally in Door County for quite some time, Fish Creek feels like home to us. It only seemed right.
How would you describe the style of the clothing you carry at Lilly Lo?
We describe our style as resort wear. Cute, classic and comfortable with the confidence to help you shine. Bright, happy colors fill our racks to bring a smile to your face and inclusive sizing that makes no one feel left out.
What kind of experience do you aim to create for your customers when they visit your boutique?
We want our customers to feel happy, included and confident at all times. We strive to help you find clothing that makes you feel all those things when you’re wearing it.
What is your favorite item you offer your customers?
As our inventory is ever changing, we often carry items you won’t see more than once! My favorite item is usually the newest item to arrive but as for a classic we designed a Door County Print that will forever have a place in our hearts!
What is one outfit staple all women should have in their wardrobe and why?
I would have to say a good simple shirt that you can dress up or down, that is comfortable but looks good on all occasions.
Lisa(my mom)’s is a LBD (little black dress) she likes that it’s slimming and looks good everywhere you go.
Truly the best outfit staple we can have is anything that makes you feel good!
