Q&A with Andrea of Marigold’s Traveling Boutique

Can you please provide a short description of your business?

I’m a traveling boutique based out of a 1958 Shasta Airflyte camper.  I sell an arrangement boho country clothing, jewelry, hats, bags, candles and fragrance.  You can find me at different events and pop-ups around Wisconsin and online.

Can you share a bit about what inspired Marigolds Traveling Boutique? How did you come up with the idea to make a traveling boutique?

I have always loved to travel, especially with our camper.  We travel cross-country from California to Florida.  On our travels we stop at different RV parks where I love to walk and check out the different campers.  I fell in love with the Shasta Airflyte and found one on Facebook Marketplace.  We drove to Michigan to pick her up and it was love at first sight.  I have always wanted my own boutique where I could work with all the things I love.  It was hard to pick a brick and mortar location because I travel and move around so much.  I am kind of gypsy at heart (lol).  Then it came to me…a traveling Boutique.  And so it started “Marigolds Traveling Boutique.”

How would you describe the style of the clothing you carry at Marigolds?

I would describe my clothing as boho country, a good mix between light and flow with a bit of country girl flare.  I figure if I love it it is true to my brand.  Pair any of it with one of my boho hats and you are set to go.

What kind of experience do you aim to create for your customers when they visit your boutique?

Marigolds is a one of a kind shopping experience.  It always must a smile on people’s faces when they see the Shasta.  For some it brings back childhood memories and for others it’s a whole new shopping experience.  It is fun to watch people’s expressions as they walk in the doorway and see the newly renovated interior full of beautiful clothing and accessories. I am always down to swap traveling stories. I love to listen to your Shasta adventures from the past and help you find the perfect outfit to take on your travels.

What is your favorite thing you offer your customers?

That is a hard one…but I have to say the hats.  I have carried burned hats from small makers and have had custom hats designed for Marigolds from local artists.  At the moment I am working on creating my own line of hats that will pair perfect with any outfit.

What is one outfit staple all women should have in their wardrobe and why?

Never under estimate the power of good accessories.  They can change the look of any outfit from day to night or basic to WOW with just a pair of earrings and a clutch.  It is also a way to make an outfit truly your own.  You can tell a lot about someone by their accessories.  Are they simple and dainty with clean lines or are they big, bold and stand out from the crowd.
