You’ll need to not only develop your skills and the fundamentals of volleyball, but you’ll also want to be sure you’re getting in front of the right audience to attract coaches/colleges. This is where Spiketown Volleyball comes into play! Spiketown is a club volleyball program that can help you further develop your skills and get you ready for playing at the college level! About Spiketown Volleyball
Spiketown Volleyball is a club in Wisconsin that helps middle school through high school athletes develop their volleyball skills. They have multiple locations throughout Wisconsin and provide club opportunities for underserved areas of the state. Some of their locations include Berlin, Oshkosh, Green Lake, Wautoma, Brillion and Sevastopol. This volleyball club has a program that focuses on sports psychology/human performance, strength and conditioning and volleyball training. The coaching staff is excellent and brings many years of experience to the table. Together the directors have a combined 20 years of high school, 27 years of club, and 15 yers of collegiate coaching experience. Spiketown provides fundamental training, drills and tournaments to its players.
How to Get Involved
Spiketown Volleyball offers tryouts for their teams. Tryouts happen in the summer and fall tryouts will happen for any age groups that aren’t finalized in summer. During the first few weeks you’ll be trained with technical skills, tactics, systems and competition. After this portion of tryouts is completed, teams will be finalized within each age group. All players who tried out, regardless of team placement, will also have the opportunity to play for a complete season. They also offer a beach league that will help you develop skills specifically for beach volleyball. Spiketown will cover topics like doubles format, smaller court, scoring, beach rules, serving rotations and more! The season typically runs between May and July. Included with the experience will be practice, tournaments and a beach party.
Also, in order to join Spiketown, you’ll to obtain a membership from Badger Region Membership.
College Recruiting & Volleyball Scholarships
Being involved in a volleyball club can help you chances of being recruited by a college and receiving a college scholarship. Spiketown USA helps all of their athletes create a profile on the University Athlete site. This platform is for college coaches and helps them easily find, evaluate and take notes on athletes.. They also have a recruiting coordinator that helps to manage the recruiting process and make sure that all Spiketown’s athletes are represented on University Athlete. This club also does an excellent job of maintaining their social media accounts that help their athletes’ talents to be showcased online.
