Including your sport into your De Pere High School senior photos, doesn’t have to be boring! As a senior photographer, I’m always looking for ways to make my seniors’ photos stand out. So I already know that you usually take team photos each year at school and while those are good for memories, they are missing that wow factor. They all look the same. My angle with sports portraits is to try new things and give you some creative takes on your senior photos! So below I’ve created a guide to show you just how creative we can get with your sports photos for your senior photography session!

The first and easiest way to include your sport into your senior session is with your clothing. You could wear your jersey with a cute pair of jeans or khakis. This is a great way to include your jersey without putting on a uniform. Especially if your sport doesn’t have the most flattering uniforms. You could also wear a warm up shirt or your favorite clothing item that highlights your sport and the De Pere High School colors of cardinal red and white. This would definitely be a more casual approach to incorporating your sport.

This is one of my favorite ways to make senior sessions stand out! I’m all about locations that are different from everyone else’s! Think outside the box and let’s capture some senior photos downtown, on a backroad or in a flower field! The possibilities are endless haha. But this is a great way to help your images really stand out because we can choose something outside the norm. I love heading downtown and capturing some fun images with the different bricks, stairs and walls available.

Another option that my clients love is including water into their session. And yes we can do that for your De Pere High School senior photos too, even with sports! Bring along equipment and clothing you don’t mind getting wet and let’s try a variety of poses. Some of my favorite things to try include different action shots with splashing the water, doing some typical stances waist deep and jumping out of the water! I’m all for trying new things, so feel free to bring ideas for the water haha.

I always recommend that my De Pere High School seniors bring along more sporting equipment than they think is necessary for their senior photos, especially if we want to get creative! I would rather have too many things than not enough haha. We’ll play around with different poses and ideas with your sporting equipment. Sometimes that means including your equipment with your super dressy outfit. Or it might mean laying out all the equipment around you as you lie down on a backroad. Either way, we’ll be sure to capture a variety of different poses with your equipment so you have a ton of fun options to choose from!

Another fun idea to show off your sport for your De Pere High School senior photos is to bring your trophies and medals with you! After all, you’ve earned each of these and it’s just another unique element to bring to your senior session! We can lay these out around you, display them on a wooden crate, or have them hanging around your neck or arms. I would also recommend bringing along more than you think is necessary if you have a lot to choose from! The more you bring, the more we have to work with.
I would recommend including one or two of the above ideas into your De Pere High School senior photo session. It’s a great way to include your favorite sport, but in a different way! Your senior photos should celebrate your uniqueness and personality. Don’t be afraid to try something new!
And if you’re looking for a senior photographer that loves finding creative ways to include sports into senior sessions, then I’d love to be considered! I’m all about having fun while creating beautiful images. To learn more about my senior sessions browse my site or send me an email!
