When Kimberly High School Students Should Book Their Senior Photography Session
As a Wisconsin senior photographer, I often get asked a lot about when students should book their senior session. And honestly, the best time to book is as soon as you can haha. Most often students book their session as early as the beginning of their junior year at Kimberly High School. It’s important to book early because there isn’t a huge time span that we can take your photos. We have a limited amount of time to photograph outdoors between the months of May and October. Booking early not only ensures that you get your preferred date, but it also gives you extra time to plan the details of your session too. This way we’ll have plenty of time to go over details and plan the perfect session!
Which Month is Best to Book Your Photo Session
There really isn’t a bad month to book your session. Each month has different things to offer and all are beautiful for your Kimberly High School graduation photos. Here is a quick recap of what each month as to offer:
- May has cooler temperatures, bright greenery and unique flowers. I recommend this month if your summer is usually busy.
- June still has relatively cooler temperatures, flowers, sunsets and the mosquitoes usually aren’t out quite yet haha. This month tends to be my favorite!
- July is hot, has golden sunsets, flowers are abundant and it’s ideal for those beautiful summer vibes.
- August is hot, has gorgeous sunsets, flowers are in their prime, and is a great month for jumping in the water!
- September tends to cool down some, flowers are still around and sunsets are gorgeous. It really has summer vibes, but with September temperatures early to mid-September. Late September things start to change to more yellows and browns.
- October is cooler, fall colors are visible and it usually is a bit cloudy. It is perfect for those that want all the fall vibes!
What To Bring to Your Kimberly High School Senior Photo Session
It’s really important to be prepared for your session. After all your senior year and senior photos only happen once, so we need to be ready for anything! I recommend bringing along all of your outfits, an extra outfit just in case, water, snacks, makeup and hair supplies for touch ups, a towel if you plan on jumping in the water and dry clothes for the ride home. I will bring along a wagon to carry our things, my senior session emergency kit and some other things to ensure your session runs smoothly. I’m always prepared for anything!
Remember These Important Senior Year Photo Dates
As graduation gets closer for seniors at Kimberly High School, it’s important to remember a few photography dates. First check and be sure that you have your senior photo submitted to the yearbook on time. You and your parents should have received an email with all the details. I help all my clients with this part and make sure that everything is resized properly and will even submit the image on your behalf. Also, remember to book your cap and gown session! These are becoming so popular and it’s easy to see why. It’s the best way to celebrate the final moment of your Kimberly High School chapter.
