About Mothering the Mother
Dedicated to not only your care but to improving the maternal and perinatal health outcomes in Southeastern Virginia as a whole, Mothering the Mother can be found at 1586 S 81st. Mothering the Mother was founded in 2010. They were brought to life thanks to Michelle Hardy’s passion for helping teen and low-income families. Michelle believes income shouldn’t be a determining factor in whether a family has access to high-quality birth services and support. Working as a nonprofit, they dedicated themselves to improving maternal and perinatal outcomes for families in Southeastern Wisconsin and has the vision to provide access to high-quality education and services for all, regardless of income level.
Founder, Michelle, is proud to be able to offer such a valuable resource and service to everyone in need. She is even more proud to be able to offer her experience and education! She has worked at achieving many certifications and licenses, as well as furthering her education in order to offer her clients the best!

Mothering the Mother offers a variety of childbirth education for anyone needing it! Their classes include:
- Childbirth Ed Series
- Childbirth Express 1-day class
- Choose What You Learn course

- Postpartum Plan Session.
The Childbirth Ed Series goes over everything that is found in each individual class and offers a great deal for a taste of each workshop, class, and all the information you need! A few other classes include Stages of Labor, Medications and Medical Interventions, Labor Support Techniques class, Postpartum Care and Recovery, newborn Care and Safety, Breastfeeding and Feeding Your Baby, and more. They even offer online booking to make your life easier and offer easy access to their wonderful classes! This team also offers an unlimited source of information for parents to help guide them from newborn stages through the teen years!

The center doesn’t only teach the parents and offer them resources, but they also offer services for other birth professionals, such as workshops, evaluated teaching series, consultations and mentoring, and a birth professionals blog for each to connect and share experiences!
